parts of engine -3

HELLO FRIENDS,

Previous article we have discuss parts of cylinder block, cylinder head and this article we have discuss crankcase and cylinder liner and piston introduction.
So…..lets start,😊

3. Crankcase:

Crankcase is attached to the bottom face of the cylinder block. Crankcase is base on the engine. It is supported the crankshaft and camshaft in suitable bearings and provided the arm for supporting the engine on the frame. The oil pan and the lower part of cylinder block together are called the crankcase.

Sometimes you are thinking about oil pan, so I can explain this oil pan is bottom half of the crankcase is called oil pan show in figure. it is bolted or screwed to the lower flange of the main casting are usually made of pressed  steel and aluminum.
In the crankcase cylinder block and upper half of the crankcase usually are cast as single integral unit. This casting is usually made of a ferrous alloy or semi-steel provide to stronger and harder casting.

4. Cylinder Liners:

Problem of cylinder were and this has been solved by use of cylinder liner. The cylinder liner  are in the form of barrels made of special alloy iron containing silicon, manganese, nickel and chromium. It is now fit cylinder liner on engine for cars and commercial vehicles. The cylinder liner are used of cooling in cylinder. There are two types dry liner and wet liner are as show in the figure.

Dry liner: A dry liner is made in the shape of a barrel having a flange at the top which keeps it into position in the cylinder block. Outer surface of dry liner bear against the cylinder block. It’s not a direct contact with cooling water and hence is khown as dry liner. Thikness range is 1.5mm to 3mm.

wet liner:  A wet liner forms a complete cylinder barrel. Its provided with a flange at the top which fins into groove in the cylinder block. The liner is in direct contact  with cooling water and is known as wet liner. Wet liner thickness is 1.5mm to 6mm.

5. Piston:

Piston is considered to be the most important parts of reciprocating and rotary engine. Which its help to convert the chemical energy to mechanical energy. The purpose of the piston is the expansion of the gases to crankshaft, via the connecting rod, without loss of gas from the top dead centre to bottom dead center. Previous article “two stroke engine” discuss in how to work of piston on suction stroke to compression stroke. In the piston construction are equipped with piston rings to provide a good seal between the cylinder wall and piston. The efficiency and economy of the engine primarily depends on the working of piston. In the cylinder very high temperature ranging from 2000ºC to over 2800 ºC during this operation.

► Piston must be the following qualities:

   1. Rigidly to high pressure

    2. Lightness weight

    3. Good heat conductivity

    4. Material low expansion. For different Expansion rate of cast iron cylinder block and aluminum piston.

The top of the piston is called head. Ring
grooves are cut on the Circumference of the
upperp portionof the piston. The part of the
ring grooves is skirts. The portions of piston
thats separatedthe grooves are called lands.
Some piston have groove in the top land is
called a heatDam which is reduce heat
transfer to the rings. The piston bosses are
the reinforce section of the piston design to
hold the piston pin or wrist pin.

in piston cylinder some details are show on the.... next aritical never miss....
Thank you🤗

We will describe step by step are deails on our website.I hope completely understand what is types  automobile and work of automobile can you more details are understand so you are subscribed my website and any queries regarding of automobile writing on comments box and share link I will give very fast reply and thank you for read this article.

Parts of Engine -2

Hello friends, Previous article we have discussed in cylinder block. In cylinder block are the round mirror cylinder surface by accurate grinding and honing process and this article we have discussed in cylinder head. so...let's start 🤔 2. Cylinder head:           The top of the cylinder is covered by separate cast piece know as the cylinder. the cylinder head is bolted to the top of the cylinder block. it contains combination chamber. In cylinder head are mounted on spark plug and sometimes valves are mounted in it and passages for flow of cooling water. The cylinder head is usually made by gray cast iron or aluminium alloy. Aluminium has the advantage of lightness in weight and high heat conductivity. It is cast separately from the cylinder block, it may be removed for cleaning carbon and grinding valve. A flat piece of gaskets is placed between the cylinder head and cylinder block. Racing car engine, a separate head is not use. But single piece of cylinder block and hea
